NOW OPEN: NOMAT X BlackBrick
Deadline: 11 November 2024 | 12:00
Start of implementation: end of November 2024
Cross-TIC invites you to submit a proposal for a cross-medial RESEARCH.
Cross-TIC seeks makers and artists who, with guidance, want to create a cross-medial installation or artwork. You will conduct your research within the framework of NOMAT (Nomadic Offspace Museum of Art & Technology), a new concept of PLANETART, and Black Brick. Under the name NOMAT, PLANETART presents art installations with a focus on technology and innovation throughout the year, at various locations in the Twente region. Black Brick provides the guidance for this trajectory. Black Brick is a development institution that, through its Institute for Artistic Intervention (IAI), offers guidance, network and studio spaces to artists who deal with context and medium in an innovative way.
Your production must be cross-media and have a technologically innovative element. Apart from that, you can fill in everything else yourself. Where and when your installation will eventually be presented (at a festival, art exhibition, or somewhere in the public space in Twente) will be arranged in consultation with you.
Do you have a cool idea? Don’t hesitate, just send it in!
Cross-TIC is looking for individual creators or collectives from different art disciplines: film, theater, visual arts, music and performance, professionals who live or want to work in Twente. We are looking for creatives who want to work cross-medially and transcend the boundaries of their own discipline. Use different media, and approach your work in a technological and/or innovative way. Moreover, you must match the vibe of PLANETART, the driving force behind the GOGBOT Festival.
This research trajct at Cross-TIC consists of:
- A place to bring your plan to fruition and present it;
- A fee of €39.00 per hour (ex. VAT) for a total of 108 hours;
- A small production budget of up to €500 euro’s;
- guidance from the profile coordinator for Broedplaatsen;

About Cross-TIC
Cross-TIC is a multi-year project taking place throughout Twente that aims to give artists living and/or working in Twente the opportunity to develop innovative cross-media art projects. The projects can take place at different art institutions and can be short, medium or long. During a trajectory, an artist is encouraged to experiment, conduct research, enter into new collaborations and develop himself further in the business field as well. The outcomes are made visible at cultural institutions (libraries, culture houses, film houses, theaters and museums), at festivals or at the creative incubators in the region. Cross-TIC takes place until at least the end of 2024, and consists of a total of 33 development paths.
Colophon
Cross-TIC was developed by the Twente Culture Region: 14 Twente municipalities working together in the field of culture. In consultation with the cultural field, they developed a vision for culture in the region. Based on that vision, Cross-TIC was set up by Library Almelo & Theater Hof 88, Werkplaats Diepenheim, Oyfo, PLANETART, Schouwburg Hengelo, Theater Sonnevanck, Stichting Oldenzaalse Musea, Tetem and Concordia (penman).
